First Major Snow of the Winter

I almost wrote first snow of the winter, but then I remembered that Monday when I took me 50 minutes to get 3 miles. Well it’s the first large snowfall we’ve had in quite a while.

Who knows how much we’ll get or when it will stop coming down? The major weather predictors don’t agree when it will stop as shown by this graph I made of the hourly “chance of snow” from their websites.

The overall prediction:

The Weather Channel – 4.8 inches so far, expect another 3 to 5 inches by midnight and another 1 to 2 inches overnight. Snow flurries Monday morning but no measurable accumulation.

Weather Underground – Whatever we got overnight plus another 7 inches. Snow will stop around 5am then light flurries throughout Monday.

AccuWeather – 8 to 12 inches total but the snow will stop soon after midnight.
