The Damn Port is Finally Out!

That port was in me for 119 days. At it’s best, it was very uncomfortable. I’d lift hardly anything and be in pain for days. Passenger side seat belts were torture. Hugs were potentially dangerous. Fashion choices were limited.

The hospital charged $1795 for it. Figured I should at least get a picture.

There are advantages of having a port..

  • Less time. Chemo goes right into the main blood supply entering the heart
  • Don’t have to endure multiple attempts for them to find a vein
  • Lower risk of nasty chemical burns

I didn’t have enough good veins to even have a choice.
